The Allotment Plot
A murder mystery production.
RoCo's next amateur dramatics production will be our 2025 murder mystery. We will be staging The Allotment Plot, written by Emma Northcott and performed by arrangement with Lazy Bee Scripts.
The play is produced by Alistair Babbington, assisted by Tira Teague. The cast have all been hard at work in rehearsals, for what is sure to be a thrilling affair!
The Play
The Roundhay Allotment Growers are busy preparing for their next annual flower and produce show. Councillor Alex Hodges is desperate to steal gold in the root vegetable category, from friend-turned-rival Bob Mansfield... by any means necessary. But he's not the only one up to something. With jealousy, rivalry, secrets and a shed packed with an abundance of pesticides and sharp implements, what could possibly go wrong?
The Event
For our murder mysteries the audience are seated at tables, café style. A light supper will be served during the interval - between the murder and the denouement. For this production, we will be performing in the Sanctuary of St Andrew's.
Each table represents a different team. During the interval, audiences are tasked with a bit of sleuthing to do, as questionnaires will be handed out to be filled in by each table/team. There will also be a raffle.
At the end of the evening, the answers will be read out and the winning team will be announced and presented with their prize! The winner is the table/team with the highest overall score that also guesses correctly who the murderer was.
Interval Refreshments
There will be interval refreshments provided for each performance, included as part of your ticket purchases - please let us know if you or anyone in your party require any veggie, vegan or gluten free options when ordering your tickets.
Our murder mysteries are 'bring your own drinks', which can include beer, wine, fizz and soft drinks (no spirits permitted, thank you). We also ask that you bring your own drinking glasses, for ease of clean-up.
